About me

Kit Anderson

Kit has used her background as a Photographer and Ceramacist to develop this unique range of ceramic ware using original photographic images and archive images from local collections.

She has been developing ways to use photography with ceramics for many years and was included in Paul Scotts ‘Ceramics and Print’ (1994,1st Edition) for her work using Photo-Emulsion.

Kit gained her MA in Photography in 2004 and continues to teach and run workshops on alternative Photographic processes, Digital Photography and Photoshop in East Midlands.

She was awarded a Research and Development Grant from Arts Council Enland in 2007 which enabled her to develop her current work.

Using photographs as a starting point she fixes the image on to the ceramic surface using a process shared by both photography and ceramics, namely the Gum Bi-Chromate Process.

Kit makes a range of decorative ceramics including tiles, ceramic boxes, vessels and bowls. Her pieces are fired in an electric kiln or raku fired.

She has been a member of Design Factory since 2006
